Cuantificar, clasificar y valorar errores en las traducciones

Este tema está relacionado con las materias de traducción.
Hablando con Guadalupe, coincidimos en que sería muy práctico establecer un esquema para cuantificar, clasificar y valorar los errores de los alumnos. En otras palabras, tipos de errores, cantidad y puntaje a descontar.

A modo de puntapié inicial, y como para no empezar tan en el aire, a continuación pongo un esquema de puntaje que utiliza una importante agencia de EE.UU.
Verán que el puntaje más alto es 3 y el peor es 0. Lo pongo a modo de idea disparadora, a ver si nuestras neuronas se inspiran.

Score 3 (best)
• No major technical or non-technical mistranslation.
• Small amount of punctuation, formatting, format-painting mistakes compared to the size
of the job (about <2% of the sentences).
• Fast and easy to fix mistakes of other types.
• Few mistakes regarding style guides and instructions.
• Spell-check run.

Score 2 (fair)
• No major technical mistranslation. Very few major non-technical mistranslations.
• Fair amount of punctuation, formatting, format-painting mistakes compared to the size
of the job (about <5% of the sentences).
• Mistakes of other types somewhat fast and easy to fix.
• Some mistakes regarding style guides and instructions.
• Spell-check run, but a few typos mistakes a spell-check couldn’t catch.

Score 1 (bad)
• A few major technical or non-technical mistranslations.
• Large amount of punctuation, formatting, format-painting mistakes compared to the size
of the job (about >5% of the sentences).
• Mistakes of other types somewhat time-consuming to fix.
• Several mistakes regarding style guides and instructions.
• Spell-check not run, fair amount of spelling mistakes.

Score 0 (auch, it hurts!)
• Several major technical or non-technical mistranslations.
• Large amount of punctuation, formatting, format-painting mistakes compared to the size
of the job (about >10% of the sentences).
• Mistakes of other types time-consuming to fix.
• Style-guide or instructions not followed.
• Spell-check not run, lots of spelling mistakes.

A modo de introducción

La idea de este blog surge a partir de la necesidad de que los profesores de Newstart de interactuemos y colaboraremos más y nos comuniquemos mejor.

La comunicación es clave.

Como nuestros trabajos como traductores/otros no nos permiten acatar la agenda al pie de la letra, siempre nos perdemos alguna reunión, o no encontramos el tiempo para reunirnos, etc.

Pero llega la tecnología al rescate, y lo que propongo aquí es simplemente integrar recursos con los que ya estamos familiarizados y que nos permiten hacer todo lo ante descripto en tiempo real o diferido.

La idea de este blog es que tengamos un lugar donde analizar, debatir, planificar, organizar.

Ojalá que esta idea sea bienvenida y lo llenemos de entradas, comentarios.
